Educational Pre School Care in Woking
We are inspected by OFSTED under the childcare partnership scheme working within the foundation stage framework and Birth to Three Matters. A wide range of activities of development are planned around the early learning goals and birth to three framework.
These goals are set in context within the six areas of learning, these are Personal, Social and Emotional, Language, Literacy and Communication, Knowledge and Understanding, Mathematical, Creative and Physical Development for the foundation stage A Strong Child , A Skillful Communicator, Competent Learner and a Healthy Child for the birth to three.
Activities are organised around themes covering areas such as shape, number, colour, senses and environment. Celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Eid and Diwali are marked as well as traditional English ones.
Pre reading and writing skills are encouraged through individual working and worksheets as well as the art, craft and other activities. The computer can be used for counting, matching and spelling games. There is a quiet area with books and tapes.
The carefully controlled use of a television, allows a child a time for quiet and rest. A wide variety of floor toys, cars, jigsaws, games table. A wide variety of floor toys, cars, jigsaws, games, table toys and construction materials are available.
The garden is secluded and secure- with a paved area as well as grass. Equipment is available to encourage physical activity. Children enjoy the opportunity to play on bikes, climbing frames, slides and in the playhouse.
When it is wet we conduct music and movement with the children and play indoor games. Music and movement is a key learning point and children enjoy singing and dancing to the action songs.
Children can explore paint, dough, cutting, gluing, collage, modelling, sand and water. There is a Home Corner with dressing up clothes, as well as other imaginary 'scenarios' such as hospital, office and shop.
Children of all ages mix together as a family grouping, where they can learn from each other. We care for all areas of the individual, encouraging independence as appropriate where younger children can explore, experiment and begin to plan and make decisions in a secure, safe and stimulating environment.
We like to believe that fun and learning go hand in hand. Your child will be involved in messy activities on a regular basis such as collage, sand and water play, painting, dough, and many others and though we provide protective overalls, it is not always possible to avoid accidents.
We therefore ask that you do not send your child to the nursery in their best clothes. It would also be helpful if a set of spare clothes could be provided to be kept at the nursery
